Hey Frank, get the Angenieux 1:1,2/6-80mm lens, together with the very rare 1:1,2/6-90 lens it is the very best S8 lens ever built, with prof contrast and resolution power and T-stop marking. The Schneider 1:1,4/6-70 often offered with this camera is good, too, but sucks in the 6 mm range (weak contrast and resolution at open stop) and the 70 mm range (unequal brightness, contrast). The Angenieux 1:1,4/6-90 offered for 6008... models has the same imperfections as the Schneider. The mentioned older Angenieux is really the best, I made a test roll in comparison with the Schneider befor buying the lens.

Where are you going to buy your Zm2?
Your currency is twice as strong as the Duetchmark, so I would suggest going through Wittner/Beaulieu.
They are selling brand new Zm2's with a reconditioned lens, battery pack and charger for 1100.00 or you can purchase and reconditioned Zm2 and Lens (you get to pick your lens!) with charger and battery for around 750.00.
If I didn't already have one, I would go through them. www.Wittner-kinotechnik.de
Check them out, they're wonderful!

Thanks to you both for your help, I will take your advice on the lenses, I have a Canon 1014e that I use at the moment, a FINE camera, with some great features and a very good lens, picture quality is my main concern with any camera, and I have read many fine comments about the Beaulieu. The only thing that looks odd on these is the small hand grip,...

It is a very odd hand grip. You'll be lucky to get two fingers around it! But it is such a beautiful camera -- sort of French design meets classic Star Trek, in my estimation.
There was an accessory hand grip extender available way back when, but I've never seen one in person, much less grip one.

You would, IMHO, definitely want the Schneider 1.8/6-66mm lens if you plan on doing lots of Macro filming. It's got the best Macro around.

I should have mentioned I have the Schneider lens. It's the best piece of glass I've owned, with the possible exception of the integegrated Flourite (sp?) 20X zoom on my Canon GL1 MiniDV camcorder.
But, I've never used the other lens for the Beaulieu, and Irv Higdon tells me it's better than the one I've got. He's the expert. Still, I'm not complaining.

THe most important thing about Beaulieu interchangable lenses is, that EVERY lens used at one camera body MUST be adjusted to THAT particular body. Only a set of several ADJUSTED lenses is interchangable at ONE body. There are many sellers around, who don?t consider that simple fact and sell body and lens separatly, even when the lens had been taken off from another camera.
The handle of the 4008 is designed to take two fingers and to let the camera lay on the upper side of the hand. With any handle, it?s important to fix the camera somehow at your own headbone, maybe with the help of your other hand. The headbone is the steadyest part of the human body. Only few camera designs take advantage of that, f.e. the Leicina, whith it?s battery pack above the viewfinder, between camera and headbone.

Pedro,
I have a 7008pro and want to use a lens from my 6008 or another 7008. Will the lens need to be adjusted for my 7008pro? I thought that they would be swappable. Thanks

I agree with the 6-80mm behind that I would get the 6-66. The reason is that the 6-70 is a dog. I really nasty piece of glass.
The 8-64 is nice but it has an odd range.
Good Luck
